Mrs Howard taught me English GCSE and A Level and left the biggest impression on every student she taught. I still hear her advice in my head now (30 years on!) and she was absolutely instrumental in helping me achieve well in English and go on to be a writer. She championed the under dog and saw the magic in everyone. The world has lost a very special woman. Sending enormous love to her friends and family who must be feeling this loss even more. I sobbed when I heard the news!!! Thanks for everything Mrs Howard. You were one of life’s greatest. Xx

Mrs Howard was my English teacher all through secondary education, firstly for GCSE & then for A’Levels. She instilled a deep love for literature & theatre as well as grammar (!) which meant I went on to study English & theatre studies at at uni. Mrs Howard is present is all that I do & how I write (even now), and it’s hard to explain how much one teacher, one person, influenced me & my development but she did- so so much.
I can’t imagine how much her family & friends will miss her, given the legacy she left with me & my friends….
Much love to you all
